  1. Oxford is a bit different from Bryant, to say the least! It is split up into many, many different colleges and you must apply to the individual college before gaining acceptance to the university overall. The school dates back to the 13th century and has been highly regarded for many years and is obviously very competitive. The history that is incorporated into each of the buildings makes the school very interesting and appealing, adding yet another difference compared to Bryant!
It was really interesting to hear about college over here in Europe. Oxford has many “tutors,” as they call them, per college and the “classes” are taught by these tutors. However, the classes are not classes that we would expect as Bryant students. Most of them are one-on -one meetings with the tutors that provides the student with the chance to present their research and knowledge from the past week and to decide on their next topic of study for the following week. I don’t think I would really like this type of set-up because I like the classroom atmosphere and I find working with other students to be very beneficial.
One thing that I would like is the cost of the school! Because England is part of the EU, European Union, all of the schools are discounted costs to residents in any EU nation. If I remember correctly, for an EU resident, tuition is only about 4000 pounds (or roughly $7000) plus the cost of room and board. Even as a student from another country the cost is about the same as any school here, if not a little bit less!
Overall, I thought it was very interesting to go and tour a school like Oxford. We all have really been enjoying our time and London and agree that the trip is going by far too quickly!
